Netflix and me

Dialogue	What will be shown
I believe that Netflix is a multicultural platform that represents different types of cultures and people. Netflix have shown like "How to get away with murder" which has a black woman as a leading actress	-A group of cultures and skin toned people in one area   -show a short clip of "How to get away with murder"
The fact that they have programs and movies that highlight the success of individuals on their platform crushes the stereotypes presented on other platforms	-word stereotype being crushed by a weight
Despite this I don't feel as though I see myself directly represented in Netflix. Being represented isn't very important but I feel as though it would be helpful when trying to identify with a character or show as it could make that person feel connected.	-A mirror with a reflection of someone being wiped away
However sometimes Netflix shows the negative side to that culture or character without showing in depth investigate why it's like lot as it follows the conventions	-Cartoon showing a Mexican guy selling weed
I enjoy Netflix shows that are controversial and mysterious as these don't lie and make everything look as though we live in a Utopian world.	-Visual: show the sun rising with someone skipping.
It shows the truth, that life is complicated and never straightforward. These types of shows explore a range of scenarios that bring to light a whole new meaning.

Task 3: magazine cover & content page plan

I followed the lay out of Vogue magazines content page because their layout is nicely laid out in a way which is easy for the demographic to read additionally they put the model at the center of the page which i also liked.

I wanted both my covers to project black beauty with words of encouragement or a preview of an article in the magazine so that the cover isn't too over whelming. I believe that this type of front cover will attract my audience type because it's elegant and neatly presented.

Traditional/ "high fashion" mags – Vogue/Harper

Alternative/ street style mags   I-D & Dazed

-white, young, slim, blonde models  -highly styled  -mid-shot/ mcu shot  -direct address  -left third Masthead at the top

-neither models are sexualised (not subject to the male gaze theory) -i-D mixed race model (Adwoa Aboah)=25 Zooey =38  -direct address  -minimalist design and make up  -intertextuality = "who runs the world" this is a campaign  -cover line anchor image - amazement -makeup = doll like, smudged  -masthead is behind the model which may convey that the model is more important than the magazine   -left third -san serif / typewriter writing style  -Ms/ BCU = mid-shot & big close up
